Our critics refer to Fawsley Hall as the finest country house hotel in Northamptonshire, though others say the Midlands. Fawsley Hall was the home of the Knightley family for nearly 500 years, and it was a home built for entertaining. Queen Elizabeth I herself was entertained here in 1575, and we carry on the tradition of entertaining our guests royally. Rainald Knightley in 1864 commissioned the building of the Salvin Suite for his forthcoming marriage to Louisa Mary Bowater. The result is a charming suite of rooms, hung with huge oil paintings and with views across the Tudor Knot garden, pasture and lakes.

There are 52Tudor, Georgian, Victorian or modern classic, luxuriously furnished bedrooms and suites, each reflecting a period of style. Andrew Harper, in his famous Hideaway Report, described Fawsley Hall as 'a wonderful addition to the front rank of English country house hotels'.
